Delete your account
Last updated 27 July 2026
You can delete your Asset Vault account and everything in it at any time. There are two ways to do it: instantly inside the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have access to the app.
Deleting your account is permanent. Your inventory, photos and data cannot be recovered afterwards, and there is no undo.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app (immediate)
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect straight away.
- Open Asset Vault and go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm twice — tap Delete, then Delete my account.
Your account and data are erased immediately, and you'll be signed out. You do not need to contact us, and you do not need to wait for a reply.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it (if you can't use the app)
If you've uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete the account for you.
Subject: Delete my account
Please send your request from the email address your account uses, so we can confirm the account is yours. If you can't email from that address, tell us which address the account uses and we'll verify it another way before deleting anything.
We complete email deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner. You do not need an account or the app installed to make this request.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account is permanently removed:
- Your sign-in account and email address
- Every item in your inventory, including values, serial numbers, model numbers and notes
- Every property you created
- All maintenance schedules and their scheduled reminders
- Every photo and receipt image you uploaded
- Your AI usage records
- Your unlimited-AI entitlement record
What is retained, and why
We want to be straightforward about the few things that do not disappear when your account does:
- Purchase records. If you bought the one-time unlimited-AI unlock, the record of that transaction is held by Apple (or Google, on Android) and by our payments provider, RevenueCat. We are required to keep transaction records for tax, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes, and those records are largely outside our control to erase. They are tied to your store account, not to your Asset Vault inventory.
- Encrypted backups, for up to 90 days. Our database backups exist for disaster recovery. Your data may persist in them for up to 90 days after deletion, after which the backups themselves are deleted. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.
- Your email to us, if you use Option 2. Asking us by email necessarily means we hold that correspondence.
A note on purchases
Deleting your account does not cancel or refund an in-app purchase. Refunds for purchases are handled by Apple or Google, not by us — you would need to request one through the store you bought it from.
